How to render in 720p at 60 FPS?

Hi Everyone,
I have 720p footage that I render into MPEG-2 files at 30FPS. If I hit the "custom" button, I can change this to 60, but when I try to render, Vegas errors out. Has anybody been able to render 720p at 60FPS in a MainConcept MPEG-2 file? I tried the .mp4 workaround, and though it did render successfully, the quality was way below the .m2t files that I'm used to. Thanks!

Why are you rendering the 720p as 60 fps? Is the original file 60.00 fps? If not, then don't add/remove frames as this brings nothing but ghosting. First match the project settings using the icon that does the matching, and then export at the same frame rate using Main Concept MPEG-4. No reason for mpeg2 unless you're going for DVDs.

Thanks for the reply Eugenia,
The source is 60 fps, and I just realized now that I've been outputting at 30 fps. I don't think it's distracting too much, but I didn't know if it was possible. When I attempted outputting to MPEG-4, the overall video quality was greatly diminished, so that type wouldn't work for me.

mpeg4 is better than mpeg2, especially when the original file is mpeg4 itself. If the quality was low, it's because the resolution/bitrate used was not appropriate. Follow the guide here: http://eugenia.queru.com/2007/11/09/exporting-with-vegas-for-vimeo-hd/ and set the project properties and export using 59.94 fps exactly, not 60.00. Also, use more bitrate than the suggested, e.g. 12 mbps average with 24 mbps max.
