How to return to menu after video ends

Hello, I'm new to this group.

I would appreciate any help with this problem: After setting any of several chapters to return to menu (in the "end action" option) my video plays correctly in the preview but when burned to a Blu-ray disk and played on a Sony player the video freezes 4 seconds before the end and none of the buttons on the remote will work. It will not return to show the main menu and makes the player unresponsive. In fact, I have to unplug and reboot to open and retrieve the disk.

All commercial videos play well on this player.

Using DVD Architect Pro 6, Windows 11, Pioneer BDR-XD08B Blu-ray burner, Sony BDPS6200 3D Player, Vegas 12 Pro for editing.

Thanks for any suggestions.

It could be a poor quality BD disc. Try a test burn on a BD-RE disc (or another one) to see if that plays okay. If burning a BD-R using the maximum burn speed, try a medium or low burn speed instead.

Otherwise, is the firmware for the DVD/BD burner up-to-date?

I've been using DVDA6 for years and one of my old BD players is a Sony BDP-S5200 player which is now stored away, but when it was being used I can't recall any problem like you've experienced when playing BD-RE or BD-R discs on it that were authored in DVDA6,

Sony players had many issues with burned disks. I would try to find another player and see if the issue is still there. If it is, then Dexcon had some good ideas. If not, then blame Sony.
