How to Speedup Media Loading?

This is AFTER all the loading of VSTs and so on, that’s rapid, about 15 seconds. No, this is the actual loading of the Media. Timeline redrawing, once Media is loaded, is also rapid.

Any remedies? I’ve done some Searching on our Forum, but nothing leaps out at me.

So, initial SplashScreen is rapid, Timeline redraw is rapid but its this Media loading that’s a PITA. Not at PC at present, but I’m almost certain I’ve got my Original footage on SSD and other than that everything is on INTERNAL 7200 HDDs.

A bit like my my Media loading, I wait in anticipation..... G 😎

How much time have you actually saved?
Have just picked up on this topic as I have also been concened with the time taken to fully open a project in VP18. Am working with a nested timeline comprising 4 x .veg files. No unwanted media in main project or sub projects. Time to load around 34 seconds. Almost identical project in GV Edius using a similar structure 9 seconds. In both NLE's all bin media is simply a link to the files downloaded from camera and saved to a structured directory on the HDD. For the purpose of testing VP is using a full copy of the media supplied to Edius
In my case the master file set is on a HDD as opposed to the recommendation that the source media is on an SSD. From my standpoint it would appear VP got it wrong. It would be nice to get the load time down.

Apart from the initial loading VP is responsive and stable, all odd behaviour to date has been tracked down to a lack of familiarity with VP. Well done Magix.
