How to split only one of several tracks ?

If I have several tracks stacked up in the timeline... one over the other...

Can I split the event in just one of those tracts ?

Yes. Just make sure the event you WANT to split is selected and all other events are NOT selected before pressing "S".

If you wish to split a video track but NOT the associated audio track, you will need to turn on "Ignore Event Grouping" OR manually ungroup the audio from the video.
