BruceUSA wrote on 12/30/2011, 4:56 PM
I finally decided to take the last chance to upgrade with discount offered by Sony . So far, no problem what so ever. No crash when playing around with titler pro. I am confused and don't undertsand how to use titler pro template. When I clicked on the template sampler and it is playing on the preview window. But how do use that template?

Another minor issue is that Newblue titler pro say I have 14 days left to activate. I entered serial#, name , email address but the activate button is greayed out. I did sent an email to newblue about this problem. Other than that everything is working fine for me.

Hi Bruce -- you're lucky your system is stable with this conflicting software. Mine started crashing Vegas Pro11 b511 as soon as I open the settings for any title.

When you see the Default template, just drag it onto the timeline and you'll get that settings menu to proceed further. See the Sony tutorial on this - it's pretty good!

My NBT doesn't work with V10 - does the same as what you reported after entering the serial number... ??? Lots to work out on this program yet, I fear. Then you can start saving your own templates and expand from there. Good luck!

click on help in the titler window and your browser will open to a New Blue tutorial. http://www.newbluefx.com/helpfiles/SonyTitlerEX/index.html

If I recall, you should have received the license code from New Blue by email.

NB Titler is pretty complex. Start simple, add some 3D, add some motion with keyframes. Use the presets and make changes and see what happens.

Thank you all for your inputs. I finally got a hang of it. Everything is good. Pro titler use GPU about 30% +/- 2 I am previewing on a secondary monitor is great. I am using a old Dell desktop i7 920 12gig and GTX 260. I won't get GPU on Vegas Pro 11 but pro titler using GPU. A+

I have planned to build a new PC Ivy Bridge chipset in the Spring and a much more powerful video card. I am hoping Vegas Pro 11 will continue to work out well like my current system.

ps. I want to add, that I have tried clicked all the presets and 3d face and preview. I made changes and custom 3d text etc. ALL work great for me.

Bruce, I also had the activation nag screen - only problem was my machine is not connected to the internet.

I was advised that it is not really "activation" but registration - I think they have a problem with that message. In anycase, after two weeks the nagging stopped and the titler keeps on working as promised.

The titler has very good ideas, and can do real fancy text, but quite a few bad shortcomings and problems. Whether they are design limitations, or whatever, I hope it will be cleaned up at some stage.

I find that, for most of my needs at least, I routinely still use the (now called) "(Legacy) Text" generator and in some cases ProType Titler. The new "Titles & Text" editor I find almost useless.

Edit: Just be the way, to apply a template you can also double click it - you will loose all current formatting on the text like font, size etc.

WRT one of the shortcomings..... For the life of me I can't figure out how to adjust the start position of an effect on the timeline. The TP 'timeline' slams all the entries to the left of the track. I can't figure out how to position them e.g. in the middle of the track.

Newbluefx' website is almost useless - they don't even have the TP in the pulldown list of products for support.

Happy N.Y. all, Steve

From reading this a forum, release 511 has brought too many issues for others that I've decided to hold back until SCS has had time to wrangle Vegas back inline. I've read too many posts of previously satisfied and patient Vegas old-hands, that springing 511 onto my PC isn't an option for me. I've got 452 and VP10 client projects that are needing to be signed-off by 2 clients that I can wait till I'm finished writing my invoice until Vegas is stabler than at present, for me to dabble.

I still have my scars over VP6 and Media Manager to make me resist going to 511.

HNY, cheers

Gene, first of all, the correct link for Titler Pro help is:

http://www.newbluefx.com/helpfiles/TitlerPro

Secondly, Titler Pro is certainly listed on the website. You can see it listed here:

http://www.newbluefx.com/shop/videofx/effects/titler-pro.html

I also just checked the help ticket system and Titler Pro is certainly listed in the selectable products.
