How to vertically zoom in/out video track on timeline display

Okay, so I've been told about how to vertically zoom in or out of the audio tracks (shift arrow up/down).

How do I do the same for the video tracks?

I'm not asking about how to zoom in/out of the timeline (I know how to do that already with the mouse roller button or the up/down arrow keys). And I also don't want to expand the height of the video track either because that uses up valuable screen real estate. I'd like the timeline to remain just as it is, but I'd like to zoom into the thumbnails for the various video events because it helps to see what they are more clearly.

I may have the terminology wrong - see the attachment for a visual explanation of what I'd like to do :)

How does that video used in your screenshot look like in the preview window?

In my Vegas Pro, my normal display is the same as your second image.

Yes, it would look like that if the video itself filled up the entire screen. I used the image as an illustration to show that the full-screen video for the project I'm working on consists of a small image (or images, or simply very fine level of detail) and I'm not able to see the detail unless I can zoom in in some way.

I'd like to maintain that level of zoom throughout the timeline... like I've recently learned to do with the vertical zoom for the audio wave forms.

Is there a way to do the same for the video events?
