How were moderators selected and why?

I see several long time Vegas users who are apparently moderators of this forum. How were they selected and why? One is apparently causing a lot of distress by challenging other people on their issues with the Magix pricing scheme and the value added of Version 14. This is not what a moderator should do in my opinion. They should be here  to monitor discussions and keep them within the parameter of the forum rules.

This no longer matters to me. I just read in another thread that Plural Eyes is not compatible with Vegas 14 and there is no time frame as to when it will be. Not the exact words but that pretty much says it.

So, no plural eyes, no AC3 Pro, no reasonable upgrade price, UGLY Icons and an additional cost to use Vegasaur with Vegas 14. Throw in the pathetic support and a poor moderator and as far as I am concerned, Vegas Pro 14 is dead!

I will continue with Vegas Pro 13 while I figure out what NLE I will be going to. I am now proficient with Vegas Pro and so I hate to have to start over again with another NLE but this garbage with Vegas 14 is way too much for me!

Very sadly, I am gone...

I'm in pretty much the same position. The only hope I have is that a fix may bring everything back in line. (I didn't say it was much of a hope) :)

Of course, when (or if) vp15 is released,. Magix will probably only allow upgrades from vp14. I don't know that for a fact but it wouldn't surprise me. That way they can sweep all us nuisance users away and start from scratch.

THAT sums it all nice up, could add some but won't ;)

How a company conducts it business is their business. A user moderator still has a right to their opinion and to voice it. They do not have to be silent. They do not have to be unbiased. They are users like us. We all have our views and bias. Really, if you were not in disagreement with this moderator you would not be posing such a question here.

Norman, you are not a moderator or Magix employee so you can't answer the question. That makes me assume that you only posted to this thread in order to belittle me in the expression of my "views and bias". If this has made your day better, you are welcome.

I am still curious.

Donald, I don't know whether Norman was trying to belittle you or not, but I see nothing in his post that indicates that. He is simply espressing a different view form yours. One which i happen to agree with.

Indeed, whilst I vehemently disagree with much that Wolfgang has said, I would certainly not suggest he shouldn't be able to say it (even repeatedly).

Where he should remain rneutral as a moderator is in how he treats other posts/posters and here, to my knowledge at least, he has been etirely fair. Despite disagreeing with and arguing (tirelessly) against many of the posts and poster he has let those posts remain, unaltered, he has not banned anyone or even insulted anyone.

Whatever you may think of Wolfgangs posts as a contributor, his behaviour as a moderator has been exemplorary.

(My opinion, of course)

I actually would agree with that. He may not have done a good service to Magix but that is not his job as a moderator.

But I still would like to know how one gets elected as a moderator.

Tim, thanks for your input. But actuallly his post was telling me that I am wrong, not that he has a different point of view. And doesn't it seem odd that although I didn't mention any names, you all mentioned a moderator to whom I might be referrring. That alone puts up a flag.

The answer to this should probably come from the Community Manager who is currently away until next week.

Im not sure this question should be answered at all. Its obvious in the opening post whom you are talking about and what you are aiming at. Your true question is not how he was chosen but shouldnt he be demoted.

Ocourse he shouldnt. What exactly did he do beside having another opinion than yours? If i were him i would find this thread verry offending. Not a good move at all.
