How would i do this?

I have video of snowboarding off a jump. As he is going across the sreen I want to have a still of him left behind as he moves. leaving behind about 4 stills of him.
is it possible to do this?

Sure, if I get what you are asking...

One way is to capture your 4 stills from video then drop them on the timeline.

To capture a still from video, look on the lower right just above your monitor. You will see a typical save icon. Clicck it and you will save whatever image is displayed.

Don't forget to use full size preview in order to capture a full size image...

By using velocity envelope- you could slow down the portion of the video and get desire effect too.If you want the stills- expand timeline to more frames,pick frame you like and save. To do this in preview window choose the option of preview full best and save by pressing the floppy icon.
Drop the stills in desire position in timeline and you are set.
