How would I do this? Light Rays w/ Picture

Question:

I am using the Tumble In transition on a still image as it comes into view.

How could I use the (intense) light rays FX so as to have light rays eminating from the edges of the still image as it tumbles in?

I cannot seem to figure this out. The light rays are coming actually from the center of the image and are bounded by the edges of the still.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Hmmmm. I'm not where i can experiment right now, but if i was i'd try something like this ...

Create a new video by tumbling in a white rectangle the same dimensions as your picture onto a black background. Render this out to AVI. Bring this in as a new track beneath the picture being tumbled and apply the light rays to it instead of to the picture.

It might work. *shrug*

Hey!

Believe it or not, (after I posted) I was wondering if I would not need another "object" (rectangle) on which to apply the effect and do a simultaneous motion path.

I'll give it a try.

Thanks!

I was thinking that you could just copy & paste the tumbling object on a track below & apply the light to it. I'd also recomend compositing an animated cloud layer to that (from the media generator) to make it look "misty." Very cool effect (i did it with some text a while back... looked amazing!)
