How would I reveal a graphic?

Hello,
I know there will be a couple different ways to do this but what I want to acomplish is about 10 seconds of what looks like a heartbeat monitor.

I have a pic of a green line with spikes to show the beat and I what to reveal the pic left to right to mimic movement.

So, do I use a pan or a mask? I have played with it for a few hours and am at a lose.

Thanks for any suggestions,
DaveA

I would use the cookie cutter with a horizontal mask shape. Set the width to narrow. Start the first keyframe with the center of the mask on the left. Set an ending keyframe with the center on the right. This will cause the mask to drift from one side to the other.

Very cool. Thanks!

Now, how do I get my keyframes sooner? The heartbeat last > 1 sec. I can't add keyframes less than every second. What am I doing wrong?

Sure you can. You can add a new keyframe for every frame if you want to. You may have to zoom in farther on the keyframe timeline.
