HTC's RECurve Sportcam ruined?

Dear Sony Vegas Pro viewers: I think I have ruined my HTC ReCurve sportcam recently. I duct-taped it to the side of a 12 inch painted kickball so that I could film with it in a crazy parade in St. Louis.

When I first taped it on I did a test clip via the phone app view. see below Media Info report: RECURVE VIDEO FILE 1 – NORMAL QUALITY, ETC.
It played back normal in the camera gallery option, etc. After that I had to add more tape and a foam bumper piece to help protect the lens section. The microphone ended up being taped over. This camera has a sense motion on pickup feature and I think being taped down may have messed with the sensor.

After the additional taping was all done I filmed some more test clips before the parade and they showed up fine in the live view and the recording light was normal. I could not take the media card out to test because the bottom was all taped down. I did not look at those files in the Re's gallery option if I did I would of quickly seen they would not open.

Though the second file report shows as a “audio” file the camera does not support a audio only mode.

Here is a error message:

Failed to open: The file format is not supported or the image is corrupted – Size 3.48 mb

The camera supports a factory reset, should I try that?

I just did a Test 15 second video file which does not open in RE; shows 00.00 and 00.00 at bottom time scale of the video. Still frames do not record either.

RECURVE VIDEO FILE 1 – NORMAL QUALITY, ETC.

Yes! You "duct-taped it to the side of a 12 inch painted kickball so that I could film with it in a crazy parade in St. Louis."
