Huffyuv codec

I just spent several hours running 3 videos through Virtualdub 1.5.10 to get rid of some video noise. I used the Huffyuv codec version 2.2.0. When I try to load any of them into Vegas, they are black....no video. If I try to play them in Windows Media Player, WMP crashes. I opened the files in Gspot and it show they were rendered using the Huffyuv codec and that I should be able to view them. Can someone steer me in the right direction here? Is my verson of Vdub bad? Do I need another huffyuv codec version? Is there a way to repair these files without having to re-render them?

when you use HUFFYUV codec, select "always suggest RGB as output" ...


you can run your already done files back through v-dub and select "fast recompress" , make sure you select the HUFFYUV codec and the option (in config) i mentioned above ..

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried to run the already done files back through, but as soon as I open the file, Virtualdub crashes. I'm now running the smallest original file through with the 'always suggest RGB as output' option set. I'll post back when it's finished. Thanks again for responding so quickly.

if you are getting crashing using huffyuv , remove 2.2 version you are using and get a older build ..

2.1.1 is considered the most stable and probably more in use ... there are different builds of this versionn also ... i dont use 2.2

I wan't disagreeing with your fix -- the link I point to says basically the same thing. However, it provides quite a bit more information about where to find the setting, as well as information about related issues that may come up in the process of using the Huffyuv codec.
