This can someitmes happen when you try to edit professional video on a consumer program.

For a $5000 camcorder, I'd highly recommend you consider Vegas Pro. It's a much more versatile and powerful program, and it can handle a number of professional video formats.

Although the cam does claim to also shoot in HDV and miniDV formats. So, if you're shooting in those formats and capturing from the camcorder over a FireWire connection (rather than downloading over a USB) you should be okay.

But I wouldn't recommend trying to edit DVCAM in Vegas Movie Studio.

Don't drag files in from Windows Explorer.
Use the Device Explorer inside Vegas instead.
Or use the software (PMB?) supplied with your camcorder.

THANX for the advice. I will try these. I may just have to bite the bullet and get the vegas pro.
