HVR-Z1u master reset?

I have two HVR-Z1u cameras. One of them has a problem with the Free Run time code. It stays at all 0's no matter what I do. Camera is setup exactly as the second camera where I have had free run time code running since I acquired them.

At the beginning of a two camera shoot I always reset the time codes simultaneously with the remote. Now, one won't respond to anything.

Anyone know of a master reset on the camera to "reboot" the software?

I did have the battery off the camera for 4-5 weeks, and that is when the problem occurred, I think.

NEVERMIND! I should RTFM before I write! I found the Reset button. Haven't tried it yet, but SORRY!

Glad you found it. It does reset almost everything except for the PPs.

Leaving the battery off for several weeks will most likely cause the internal clock battery to discharge. Leave a battery on the camera for at least 24 hours to recharge it.

Bob.

The Master reset restore the use of the Free Run time code "like butter!"

Yes, I normally keep batteries on the cameras, but for some reason didn't. I now leave them on except when I am recharging the six batteries for the two cameras. And that is usually less then 6 hours.

Thanks Bob. Years ago when I had a staff of 15 in my telecom business I constantly used the RTFM phrase. Sometimes not abbreviated. One feels foolish when caught in the situation myself.

I guess I should blame on being 64 and losing my mind. So, Tom, thank you for the advice on Vegas!
