ok, client just about to buy me deck, and work on project immediately. so.

a. can i set it up tp monitor hd the same way i have my dsr 11?

ie. dsr 11 = firewire in svid out to production monitor. 15 firewire in component out to monitor?

b. still no way of batch capture by tc even using this deck?

btw - happily using 2nd display at present, but the monitor is much bigger and easier for clients to see over my shoulder (shudder!)

Have HVR M15.
For SD works the same as DSR-11, well no, actually the transport seems more robust and the dang door doesn't break. However:

a. Not if you mean feeding HDV down 1394 and getting HD out component. Vegas will not feed HDV to 'external' monitor, probably for good reason too, would be an encoding nightmare.

b. For DV / DVCAM yes, for HDV, 'notting changes that I know of.
