It hangs during the rendering process (Movie studio 17.0 Platinum). I have tried several output formats and the result is always the same, it hangs between 12% and 20%. Can someone help me please?

Has the hanging when rendering problem happened with previous projects that you've worked on in VMSP 17?
Though 12% to 20% is a wide margin, sometimes a render failure at a particular point may indicate a corrupted media event which causes the render to fail. In your project, go to Vegas' Explorer window and set its display to Thumbnails. If any video event displays as an icon rather than with a video thumbnail (a still image from the video event), then that may indicate a problem media event.

No, the "hang" does not occur at the same point, each time the point changes. My project does NOT contain videos, it is only photographs and I can view it during editing without any problem. No does any error message appear either on the tracks or at the time of the "render".
Any more ideas?

What is your rendertemplate and renderlocation?
Can you give a screenshot of Options/ Preferences/Video?
