I think that you are comparing apples with oranges as far as transitions go. The transitions you've demonstrated in Vegas Pro are designed to give the effect that you've demonstrated. Of course they are not going to look like a zoom/dissolve - ditto if you had used a clock wipe in Vegas Pro. If you're going to compare a transition in another NLE with Vegas Pro's transitions, then it's important to select a Vegas Pro transition that is somewhat similar to the transition being compared. In this case, why not try Vegas Pro's Cross Effect.or GL Transition's Cross Zoom.

@yoo-changyun

I understand you're asking about Adjustment events but In Filmora it looks like you're adding the transition to the events on the timeline?

 I was expecting the same method as the other editing program

I don't use that program so you'll have to explain why that is different to adding transitions to two events in Vegas?

The same goes for GL Transition, when you use an adjustment layer, the transition effect is just placed on the clip rather than a transition. Do you see the difference? The point I'm talking about is that in Vegas Pro, the way to apply a transition by dragging and dropping is between clips and clips. You have to overlap them, but in a long work where the cut editing is complete, you have to overlap the clips, so there is the inconvenience of having to adjust the slightly delayed sync or timing. So, there is no way to do it by dragging and dropping, so I used Filmora as an example. This is something I hope will be improved by using adjustment layers.

"It's not productive to mention programs that don't work. For Vegas Pro, it would be great if drag-and-drop transitions could be improved through adjustment layers or a new method. While overlapping clips to apply transitions, which sometimes dissolve, can be effective, I personally use transitions after all the cut editing is done. Overlapping clips can be cumbersome for timing adjustments. I mentioned improvements in the hope that drag-and-drop transitions could also be implemented in Vegas Pro."

"I mentioned the improvements to Filmora as a positive example of an improvement. In Vegas Pro, using drag-and-drop transitions requires overlapping the current clip, which means you have to adjust the timing each time you use the transition after you've finished editing all the cuts. I'd like to be able to apply the transition seamlessly using an existing adjustment layer, and it doesn't have to be an adjustment layer specifically, but I've suggested a convenient drag-and-drop method for the transition.

I remember it doesn't work like this. You can drag the transition to the junction of two clips. This way, you don't need to manually move the clips to create overlapping areas, and you don't need to readjust the time.

@yoo-changyun  In the type of program you mention when you drag a transition between two clips yes it doesn't move the clip but it does extend the clips both ways that might add frames that you don't want.

Vegas does the same just like @Ian-nLMC's clip,

  • If you add a transition to two events that haven't been trimmed it loops plays the clips to extend them to make the transition, this is shown by the little black triangle at the top of an event, this isn't ideal but is the same for other programs from what I remember otherwise where does that extra info come from.
  • If you add a transition to two events that have been trimmed to transition uses the bits of the event that have been trimmed off,

Watch the region, it doesn't change size so there would be no timing lost for other events further down the timeline.

The transition length is set in Preferences
