I have been fooling around with this for a couple days now and have come up with something that is fairly easy and seems to work just fine for me. So here goes.
When you insert a dvd in the computer you get a message what do you want windows to do.
Select open folder to view files using windows explorer.
It list 2 folders an audio which is empty and a video.
Open the video folder, there are several small files and one large file.
Right click the large file and open properties, go to opens with and change to sony vegas.
Right click again and open properties plus, switch it to an avi file
Copy this file it to your hard drive where ever you save video files.
Now in my computer at least it opens in Vegas and plays audio and video just fine.
I hope this helps out some other rookies like my self.
Thanks again to everyone who has helped me in the past
Gary
