I get this error every 5 minutes:

and it forces me to crashcancel Vegas and quit without saving, plus as I said it comes up every 5 minutes, usually on standard actions like moving things around in the timeline.

Weeell, I don't know how to read these error dumps but it sure looks like some problem with the Smart Smoother filter you've got installed. Uninstall it and try again. Install again if everything is well and see what happens. Maybe it's just corrupted in some way.

Note that I'm just guessing here.
