I love media manager except for...

except you can't put in sub-clips and this oddity that I can't seem to figure out...

Open Vegas 9D to an "untitled.veg". I have a stock video library opened in media manager and it looks perfect. I then open a veg file from a project I'm working on and ALL the media that is in that veg file are now automatically imported into the stock video library!?!

I looked through the options of media manager and I can't seem to find a relevant
tick box to check or uncheck.

Just wanted to add that I checked this in 8c and I do not have the same problem, however all my settings inside MM on 8c are the same as 9d. Hmm... maybe a bug in 9d?

Erik, I have not installed 9d yet and I have had this happen before. For me, as I recall, there has been a randomness about it and I have not figured out if there is a way to control this behavior. It is quite annoying when it happens.

From the Vegas menu try: Options | Preferences | General then UNCHECK Save media-usage relationships in active media library. This is documented in my VASST training video Media Manager Demystified. ;-)

JR, bulls eye! Thanks and thanks again! I have to say though this option would make more sense to me inside MM but no biggie.

Thanks JR, this explains the randomness for me since I use several different versions of Vegas and for some reason they are not all set the same on this.
