I love my shuttle pro

Today, I figured out how to program in macros for "channel 1" and "channel 2" audio selection in Vegas. While the timeline is playing (if an audio clip has been selected) I can toggle back and forth between channel 1 and 2 on the fly!

Up till now I always selected the audio clip, right-clicked>channels>1 or 2.

Anyone else want to share a cool macro they use everyday in Vegas?

I have one where I can

1) split at the beginning of a scene
2) go to end of scene and hit macro button and it splits at the end and deletes that scene.

with ripple turned on, it pulls the following scene up.

Saves a few keystrokes.

I love mine too. It is one of the best pieces of hardware I have purchased. I also use it with Sony Acid and Soundforge. I come from the world of audio and have used all sorts of different controllers but this is my favorite by far.

I fourth that. Best investment in a productivity tool I've made since purchasing Vegas.

It's like having a third arm, my productivity went way up and hand pain went way down.
I don't know how I ever edited without it..

I have become so dependent on the 2 CSP buttons for StartStop and rewind and scrub, that when I don't have the same in IzoRX I wince.

The NEXT - I'll do it now - Button I'm gonna activate is the "Cursor Preview" - NumPad 0 . Been using this lots over the past week. Love it!

Done and . . done . . works a treat!

I want more buttons

Cursor preview I've never used before nor did I know that it existed. I have my spacebar set up for play/pause in the preferences but knowing now about 0 for cursor preview also gives me the simultaneous option to play the timeline from where the cursor originally started if I prefer. Liiiiiike it! Thanks.

"I want more buttons" - Nope, I just want one BIG F-off button that does it all!

Erikd, you can ALSO set the amount of time to loop!!!

OK, getting really anal here . . Now set a button that Toggles ExtMon off/on. If using 2nd Mon it toggles between Workspace and Monitor WITHOUT the need to break "step" and hit the ESC button back on the KB . . !

Grazie

Mahesh,

I have the Shuttle Xpress also. Gives a few more buttons and I use the Jog knob on it to zoom the timeline. (I know you can do it with the mouse wheel, but when my right hand is on the Shuttle Pro, I can use my left on the Xpress)

"Erikd, you can ALSO set the amount of time to loop!!!"

Saw that, set mine for 3 seconds.

Now set a button that Toggles ExtMon off/on.

Got that one too.

If using 2nd Mon it toggles between Workspace and Monitor WITHOUT the need to break "step" and hit the ESC button back on the KB . . !

Grazie I am totally lost here. Maybe our workflows are different which is why I'm not catching you. In general I live my external 2nd monitor hot at all times via HDMI. When I first load a timeline I click button 14 which turns on the output from Vegas to the monitor. From there, I'm pretty much set so I'm lost regarding workspace/monitor and escape button. :-{

Oh, apologies, I'll explain ..

I have 2 LCDs for editing - 1 and 2

I have my RIGHT hand one set for my 2nd monitor "Windows Secondary Display". Now, when I'm working, and I click on the preview of that Windows Second Display I have to press the ESC key to get what is UNDERNEATH it. This way I don;t go near the ESC key and just hit a CSP Button.

I ALSO have a further External Monitor which is my Pro JVC CRT that takes the S-Video out of my PC.

Does this make sense now?

Sorry . ..

Grazie
