I love "Tiny Planet" in Vegas 16 Pro!

Hi all,

The title says it all :)

I have been doing some experiments with a 360 VR camera and editing/producing the end results with the "Tiny Planet" plug-in on Vegas Pro 16.

Enjoy!

Nice work!

That's cool. Like the smooth moves and music matches. I don't have a 360 camera yet. 😔😔😔

Thanks guys! 😀

Some time ago I was toying about with the idea of visual storytelling with this effect (for example, the film “Hardcore Henry” where it was entirely shot with a GoPro actioncam).

Only things to look out for are pixellation when zoomed all the way out (Z setting) and also when latitudinal / longitudal movements arent so smooth at extreme zoom as well. Still, what a creative tool! 😀👍

These cameras are “special case” cameras lol 😀

When I first bought mine (a Xoami Yi 360 VR), at first I thought I needed it just because it was new. I then left it for a bit, thinking it was just a toy, then picked it up again 😀. It is great for those “special ideas” when they show up.

Thanks for showing us how powerful this small plugin could be in combination with keyframes. Loving it.

Have you been able to render out an actual "4k 360 Project" within VP16 yet? I had to purchase Power Director the other day just to be able to create 4k 360 projects, and will be using it until VP16 is ready, as far as 360 projects are concerned.

The video was awesome by the way.

Thanks Blaque 👍.

I haven’t gotten around to render as an actual VR video in Vegas yet. To be honest I didn’t know you could do that. I heard you need to insert metadata in the finished file somehow for it to be recognised as a VR file outside of VP16 but I haven’t tried it yet.

Funny you mentioned PowerDirector 16 as I initially used that to render previous Tiny Planet videos, then import them into vegas to add finishing touches to them.

Yesterday I went back to PD16 to render the preview/edit the same clips as the ones used on the video above, and I noticed that the pixelated areas were smoothed out in PD16, while they appeared extremely noticeable on VP16 😐.

Only thing with the way PD16 handles 360 clips is that it places limits on how far you could zoom out/in on a clip (Maybe that’s why those pixelated areas appear smooth), and VP16 allows you to zoom much further out/in.

OK, this is a better version (no pixelation, just smoothed out sections in zoomed-out clips):

does vegas 16 support spatial audio too?

Beautiful...except your horrifically deformed alien hands due to the heavy machinery accident.

Hehehe!! 😂😂 Such is the nature of the beast lol!!!!

BTW my hands are quite large IRL (9” from wrist to index finger, 7” from thumb to pinky). I’m also a musician so that helps a lot! 🙂👍

That’s a good question...The camera itself sort of does, but it is still output in stereo so I’m not sure if Vegas does something to the audio once you inport into it.

Yes, In my particular situation, Vegas 16 does output the spatial audio with my Theta V (somehow does it into one audio track) and it sounds really good. There are other factors with 360 video projects that seem to have issues at this point in time.

That's great. I was compelled to watch it all the way through. Love the music too.
