I need help with the timeline

So, for Vegas Pro 15, I want to be able to move the timeline freely. I feel this resistance when sliding it. I don't want that resistance. I also feel there is input lag. Not sure how to make this post understanding but if you have Vegas pro 15 then you should understand.

Grab the vertical black line below that white polygon that you're grabbing, and drag with that. It will be much more responsive.

You only need to drag that white polygon at the top if you want to scrub audio (which doesn't work well in Vegas).
