I need to shorten my project...

I have to delete multiple files from the middle of a video project, and want to join together now the other both parts. Is there an easy way how to do this? I don't want move any single file more left on the timeline, do you understand my concern? I really hope there is an option, you can tell me how to do this.

You can try enabling ripple editing before you delete your stuff, or you could delete your stuff, then use the selection tool to select all of the eventsyou want to move and the move it.

1)Drag a region that covers the part you want to cut out.
2)Turn on the ripple tools (all tracks, markers, and regions).
3)Hit Cttrl/A to select everything.
4)Hit delete.
5)Turn ripple off, and hit Ctrl/Shift/A
