If you want to be able to select an item and have the arrow "glide" over to the item, then I'd say you'd have to do something really kludgy, like have duplicate menus with a transition video between them. And you'd need "pairs" of these for every possible change in selection. And there would be a gap between when you select and item and when the arrow moves.
If you want to be able to select an item have the arrow "jump" from a further position to closer one, then I might have an idea. I haven't tested it out yet, though. It would involve creating your own buttons in a graphics program (one that supports alpha channels and transparency). If you're up for that, I'll experiment with this further.
You would need to have two animated segments for each menu item.
You would need to edit the buttons to auto select. So all this is beyond
the ability of DVDA. Sorry.
The DVD that I want to create will have an object fly onto the screen and the first menu will appear, the object will move down and leave another menu item. When the user selects an item the object 'zaps' away and oh well, I guess I will have to learn Encore for this.
You've seen this done on a DVD before, and you're sure Encore will make it? The first part just sounds like introduction media (which you can do with DVDA). But this thing about objects "zapping away"..? Sounds iffy to me.
