That's a video for Vegas Pro not Movie Studio. The Mask box is only in Pro. You won't find it in Movie Studio. You will need to use Cookie Cutter FX or create a mask on a Mask Track with Parent/Child grouping to do masking in Movie Studio. Or else upgrade to Vegas Pro.

So the cookie cutter fx is pretty nice and straight forward so thank you for that. But Im looking for something more in depth than that. Is there videos on how to create your a " Mask Track with Parent/Child grouping " ? I never heard of such a thing..

There are probably videos on the net if you search but tell us what you are trying to do and we can then guide you.

Also refer to "Compositing and Masks" in the VMS14 Platinum Help screens and its associated links.

Well I did tell you exactly what Im trying todo... But I guess tobe more precise Iam trying to cut picture of someone out of a background like it shows in the video I attached with my first message.

I want to be able to cut the person out of the picture my self using a tool. In some videos I heard its called a " Anker " but maybe that's in a different software.

Assuming what you are trying to do consists of a similar image to the video you showed I'd do the following (others may have better suggestions):

1 - Take an image from your timeline and save to a png file

2- Open the png in whatever photo editor you use and add a layer above it

3 - On the top layer draw around the person using whatever tools you have. I'd be doing something similar to what's shown in the video

4 - Feather this selected area to avoid harsh edges then flood fill white

5 - Mute the bottom layer so you just have a white area against a transparent background and save as a 32 bit png file

6 - Add this png file (your mask) to your Movie Studio media pane

7 - Add two tracks above your original timeline clip, make the lower of these a compositing child of the track above. This groups them together.

8 - Make the Compositing Mode of the upper (parent) of the two tracks Multiply (Mask)

9 - Add your mask to the upper mask track and move your original clip to the lower child track You should now find only the white masked area appears in your preview. The rest is cut out. Anything you place underneath on another track will appear in this area

10 - If you want to reverse what is masked i.e. cut out the face instead of the background add Video FX Mask Generator to the mask png and tick the Invert box in the FX.

If your subject moves then we'll need to do some animation of the mask.

I just want to clarify that I will be needing todo this every single time I want to mask a photo?

Depends upon the similarities between the photos. I keep several masks which I can crop, resize, rotate etc to fit different videos. But if you want accurate masking then yes you may need to do it each time, if each photo is very different.
