If I don't get an error message, my CDA freezes. What's going on?

If I don't get an error message, then the box says:

Test Writing Lead-In
Disc 1 of 1
99%

And it stays at 99% with out doing anything no matter how
long I wait. After I force the program closed, my computer
freezes up and I have to hit cntrl+alt+del. What is it
doing? I have not made one CD yet with CDA.

This usually happens for me also, but CDA is actually writing in the
background. Eventually, the disk is written.
