Image Sequence Rendering Option Gone on Vegas 18

Kaaboose wrote on 9/1/2024, 8:35 AM

Yes, I can see that this problem has popped up from time to time but I cannot find a solution that fixes it for me anywhere.

Everything seemed fine when I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 recently but I went to render an image sequence today only to find the option missing:

I've tried re-installing as well as ensuring I have the HEIF Image Extensions installed but no luck so far.

I see that user SLVideo in the post here managed to get the issue resolved but doesn't say how exactly.

Does anybody know hoe to fix this problem?

Um, apart from reinstalling Windows (worked sometimes for me), Voukoder is the only thing that comes to mind.

Image sequence rendering options depend on a Windows competent for encoding. With some systems, part of this component sends a failure message as Vegas tries to initialize the encoder. On older versions of VEGAS, this result in the application cancelling the initialization process for the encoder and as a result it is not available. In more recent versions of VEGAS, we have changed the initialization process for that encoder so that it will continue on after the error and the option is still available for the user (though the specific failed image format that caused the original error will not be available in the template list).

As this is a Windows problem, that is where you will likely need to look to try to resolve the problem with your VEGAS Pro 18 install. Either that, or upgrade to a newer version of VEGAS.

No Dice unfortunately.

In my searches I saw later version of VEGAS with this problem so nope.

Why not install the free trial version of Vegas Pro 22 and see for yourself - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/sale/

Please provide where you have seen this. We have not received any reports of this problem in the last couple years.

Just to note, it is necessary to choose the "right" preset in Voukoder because image sequence does not appear as an option in all presets. See:

select "no sound" option.

@Kaaboose Try opening up the batch render script and see if you have the Image Sequence option listed.

Sorry for the absence guys. I had a fucking First Time Seizure and as well as being stuck in hospital for two days I've had to reorganize my life now that I can no longer drive. I just tried to fire up Vegas Pro 18 to try and work through a few suggestions and I can no longer open the damn thing at all. Administrator, shortcuts, from the directory, nothing happens. No error, just nothing. @Adis-a This couldn't be anything to do with that Voukoder thing could it?

Try a reset. Hold control shift while doubleclicking the desktop icon.

Voukoder with the proper connector (install both) should work fine, I've used it for years.

Very sorry to hear this about your health and we're here whenever you're ready.

Brings up the "do you want to allow this app to make changes" warning but nothing after that :(

Oh. Going to try another fresh install.

Oooookay.... I tried shutting them down one by one (yes I have tried restarting!) and halfway though the remaining ones all sprung to life. Seriously WTF.

To stop upgrade windows appearing, uncheck 'Use Newsfeed to stay informed about VEGAS product updates' in Vegas Pro's menu item Options/Preferences/General (tab). If MAGIX's 'Update Notifier' is installed (via a MAGIX product like Sound Forge), try uninstalling that app if the Newsfeed approach doesn't work.
