image stabilization?

Was wondering if someone can help me...

I shot some footage from a motorboat that unfortunately came out pretty jerky - gives you a headache to watch it.

Is there an image stabilization or some other method of smoothing out the video on VMS? I've been unsuccessful looking through the plug-ins and whatnot.

You could also try "Deshaker", which is an excellent free plugin for VirtualDub. Check this website for details and download: http://www.guthspot.se/video/deshaker.htm. It's somwhat brain damaging to use first time - but the results are at least as good as Steadyhand - and the price is right!

Once you've tried those and made sure they're going to do an adequate job, you might want to do some preliminary editing to work out what you're going to use - it takes a long time to process the video!

The NewBlue plugin packages also have stabilization

Missed I something? The website of NewBlue FX shows no image stabilization for the VideoFX plugins. Thanks!
