Simply export your flash project (5.0 or higher) as a Quick-time movie (flattened) then import that file into Adobe Premiere 6.0 and export as an AVI/uncompressed...then, lastly, import the AVI into Vegas.
Can't Vegas import an Apple QuickTime .MOV directly without running it through Premiere? I haven't done it, but the documentation says Vegas can import QuickTime.
Flash can export to avi but I have not been able to import it into Vegas Video.
I believe there is something is the compression scheme that will not allow it.
Flash will also export to QT mov, but again will not open in Vegas Video.

Actually, it is news to me that Flash can export to AVI. I don't have Flash yet, but I was on the Macromedia site looking at Flash MX's product description and I didn't see anything about AVI being an export format.

Well, that was what I was suggesting doing, and I am disappointed to hear that it does not work for some reason. I am wondering if that is some kind of bug in Vegas Video 3. Seems like it might be. SoFo, can we fix that in Vegas 4? Flash into Vegas is something that I will also want to do. And I don't want to have to buy Premiere, although eventually I may do just that thing. But I prefer to stay with Vegas.
I work for a studio so I have access to all of the software. I agree, I would not buy premier for the... importing flash trick but, it is the only way I have found it to work. I believe some have had success with using VirtualDub (free) but that did not work for me.
Flash 5 exported an avi using microsoft1 codec and Vegas opened it fine. Compressed or uncompressed, 320x240 or 640x480 both looked pretty good and sounded pretty good too.
Kelly, I've tried Swish and love it! What a great program at the price! However, I think I could only get it to export avis at reduced sizes, not 720X480. I was a little disappointed with result since I was hoping to create interesting titles and graphics for my movies, but the exported resolution wasn't satisfactory. Am I missing something or have you been able to get better results.
P.S. for web pages Swish is the cheapest and best way to produce Flash animations (only $40).
Paul, i've never had a problem exporting from Swish at any resolution. The resulting .avi file is always the same frame size as the project i've created in Swish. Hmmm. Don't know what to tell you.
Well, maybe I need to experiment some more. I think the effect I didn't like was that pictures I zoomed in and out of in Swish, when exported to AVI looked very low res.
Paul, hmmmmmm. What resolution were the pictures you used? If you zoom in too far, you're going to see pixels. Swish can't add vector-style detail to raster images.
Well, actually, the demo has expired, so I probably won't buy it unless I really see a need to use it on my web site. Definitely a great program for the web, however.
