I'm editing a project acquired in XDCAM format.
I've assembled my rough cut using proxy .mxf files, and this being my first big project with Vegas (I'm using 8.0b), I'm not quite sure how Vegas goes about replacing the proxy files with the high-res files? Is there an automated process for this? Or do I have to take the time to import all the high-res media into the project, then enter in/out points for every clip based on the proxy clips I've used? (I hope it's not the latter!)
At the beginning of my roughcut, I just click-dragged all the proxy .mxf files into the project media bin from a Windows folder. I'm hoping I didn't goof up and should have used some special XDCAM import process...
Thanks!
