Importing avi (Audio problem).

When I want to import avi file to Vegas Video 3.0 c , the audio stream is unseen.It gives this message: Stream attributes could not be determined.

I am guessing that Vegas did not create the file. What kind of file is this- maybe media player can read the file properties?
