Importing iTunes to Sony Vegas Pro 11

I need instructions for how to import a song from my iTunes library to Sony Vegas Pro 11. I get a message saying the file is an "unsupported format."

play in itune & use the "stereo mix" in your audio recording inputs, then record to a track in Vegas.

It works fine here. I drag & drop from the itunes interface or from the library without issue or using any extra measures

If the above suggestions don't work, burn it to a CD and then import it.

Or, if you have Sound Forge (even the studio version), it opens itune files and then you can save as a .wav.
