Importing MP3 files won't play in 4.0

Hello,
Another weird thing. When opening a MP3 file, the audio is distorted, and very sloooow when trying to play in Vegas 4.0.
In Vegas 3.0, the MP3 plays fine (also in Sound Forge 6.0).
Anyone else experience this?

Nothing found here. I primarily use 44khz@128 and 44khz@160. What rates are you using?
