Importing Mpeg2 Elementary Video in V6

Hi, I've tried and failed to import a couple of m2v elementary video streams I brought from work ( Rendered using MainConcept exporter in V6 ). I also ripped one from a DVD just to check.

V6 doesn't seem to support this, m2v isn't in the file filter combo at least,
and it tells me it's unsupported if I rename to *mpg.

Am I right, or have I missed something obvious?

If I am right, are there any plans to address this omission, I often have
material in m2v?

(For now I'm just pre-muxing them into a program stream, but it's not ideal. )

You haven't missed anything, Vegas doesn't support elementary streams, only program streams. Muxing to a program stream is currently your only option.

Originally, DVDA didn't support elementary streams either, but now it does. It would be useful if Vegas did, too.

Hmmm, I do this all the time in V6...

is your mpeg encoder registered? Do they play back in Windows Media Player?

As I recall sometimes the files didn't show up in the Vegas explorer - I had to drag them from windows explorer...

ooops - missed the elementary stream part - DOH! I only think I've worked with program streams...

Thanks for the heads-up. Disappointing but not fatal :-)
