Hi @lothar-j. Thanks for testing VEGAS Pro 23.

Event Pan/Crop presets in VEGAS aren’t stored as files but in the Windows Registry. When upgrading to a new version (e.g. from 22 to 23), those entries don’t get copied automatically.

Here’s how you can bring them over:

  • Open the Registry Editor (regedit).
  • Go to the old version’s path of VP22, for example:
    • HKEY_USERS\<User-ID>\SOFTWARE\VEGAS Creative Software\VEGAS Pro\22.0\Metrics\Application
  • Inside, you’ll see paired keys...
    • A name key starting with S… (e.g. S4400)... the value is your preset name you would like to copy
    • A binary key starting with B… (e.g. B4400)... this value stores your preset values
  • ... these together represent your presets you would like to upgrade to VEGAS Pro 23.
  • Copy these entries into the new version’s folder, e.g.:
    • HKEY_USERS\<User-ID>\SOFTWARE\VEGAS Creative Software\VEGAS Pro\23.0\Metrics\Application
  • Restart VEGAS Pro 23, and your presets should now be available again.

This works for me. In the case this is too complex copy my instruction and ask ChatGPT for some help.

Thanks, VEGASPascal
I've found the entries in the registry.
Is there a way to copy the whole lot in one go? Otherwise it will take ages.
