Improve quality of text

Sorry for asking what is probably a basic question but I need some help in improving the quality of the text. When I generate an AVI file the text looks blurred/fuzzy.

I am using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0

I am using a font of Lucida Calligraphy, size of 16. Black text on a white background.

Frame size of the text objects:720x480.

Project template is PAL DV (720x576, 25.00 fps).
Full resolution rendering quality: Best
Deinterlace method: Interploate fields

I would like to use a calligraphy font. Is there a better one? Can I change anything else to improve the quality of the text?

Thanks in advance

Set the text resolution at twice your project resolution. This will help.
Vegas' titler is not known for its great titling.

That made it better...but still not 'perfect'. Is there an alternative titler?

Thanks

Assuming you do give enough bitrate to the final video, Vegas Pro's ProTitler won't help. Maybe the problem you are seeing is indeed the low-res of your video. Maybe going to HD helps. I never had problems with 720p HD exports and text.

Maybe you would like to export for us a 3 second file, the way you export, for us to see how it actually looks.

I will try going to HD and let you know what happens. If I am still having probems I will post a small clip.

It may take me a few days to sort this out.

Thanks

I have uploaded AVI and VF files to show what is happening.

http://www.thefko.net84.net/fuzzytext.avi
http://www.thefko.net84.net/fuzzytext.vf

There are 2 Text items.

The first Text has a frame size of 2048x1400. Quality is quite good but some of the text edges look fuzzy.

The second Text has the original frame size of 720x480. Quality is poor.

Other info:
- I am viewing the AVI file in Windows Media Player
- My monitor is a HP w2408h running at a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels

Well, no, it doesn't look fuzzy. The font you used is not that clean anyway. Try another font, and make your project properties to match your output. Right now, your project properties are set to 720p, while you export in miniDV PAL. Instead, re-create the project and everything in it, in PAL DV widescreen and retry with a cleaner font.

I changed the font and rebuilt the project. It looks a lot better.

Thanks for the help
