In Ear Audio Monitoring recommendations

Looking for recommendations for in ear audio monitoring ear phones - considering the Etymotic Research mc5 Noise-Isolating In-Ear Stereo Headphones - any thoughts?

Not that I have any input either way .. but are you talking about stage/performance use .. or at your editing station?

I work solo so need audio monitoring while recording dual sync audio while shooting DSLR video along with an external audio recorder (Zoom H1)

I bought some Etymotics a couple of years ago. They were ER6 or similar. They sounded good but they were pretty fragile and didn't last very long, and I wasn't rough with them. The cables were too teeny to repair so they got thrown in the bin. I've noticed some other earbuds have much better strain relief on the cables. Maybe newer Etymotics models have improved in that regard.

Shure and Sennheiser IEM are both very good, and very expensive.
Clearcom wireless is another alternative to look at depending on your needs.
