There's likely still a lot of VMS14 coding in the registry which has not as yet been deleted. Just deleting a program's folders from C:\Program Files is only part of the uninstall process and, as you've found out, causes more problems than it solves. The first destination to uninstall a program should always be via Windows Apps & Features.

What to do now? Try installing and using a free registry cleaner - https://www.lifewire.com/free-registry-cleaners-2626176 . The free version of CCleaner is a popular choice but do watch out for the extra program/s it wants to install because the 'don't install' options for those extra programs are sneakily displayed and, if I remember correctly, look greyed out or similar.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to consider following the manual way of completing the deletion as per https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-do-a-clean-uninstall-of-vegas-pro--111205/

This is for Vegas Pro, but as VMS is based on Vegas Pro, just look for Movie Studio folders rather than Vegas Pro folders. Also, take special note of the cautions given about editing the registry - there's no Undo via Ctrl-Z in the registry. Getting the registry edit wrong may mean having to use the Repair function of the Windows install process or even having to reinstall Windows again from scratch.

Thank you very much, I tried all but in the end the advice to use third party uninstaller (specificly Revo uninstaller) helped.

So problem solved.
