Increased the brightness but now looks grey

I shot some video one afternoon and I did not have adequate lighting so parts of my video came out a little underexposed. I increased the brightness of the picture and I played around with the contrast but the video still looks a little grey. Is there any other filter that I must add to the project. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

You might try the HSL fx with the contrast fx.

Levels and color curves. Avoid brightness/contrast expect for minor adjustments otherwise you will very likely over or under adjust 2/3's of the image. If you don't know why, search for "S" curves.

You might also try adjusting the Gamma levels. HSL works well, too.

I second BillyBoy's suggestion of using color curves. That tool saved a bunch of under exposed subject/over exposed background shots that I needed to use. That tool makes brightness & contrast usually unnecessary.
