Input Monitoring

I have VV3 and am testing out the V4 demo.

In V4, I can't find the Input Monitoring selection. When I click the Input number button on the track header, all I see is the stereo or mono selection.

Do I have to set-up or enable Input Monitoring or something first.

Also, can I use IM for this:
I have a track routed to a buss. The buss has plugs on it. The buss is routed to soundcard digital out and on to outboard processor then back to soundcard digital input. A new armed track picks up the signal from the soundcard digital in. New track is routed to Master. Master is routed to soundcard Analog out.

I want to monitor soundcard analog out (Master buss output) while track is armed.

Do I need certain drivers or something?

Thanks for the help.

You should be using ASIO drivers to do input monitoring. If you are, then the option is from a right click on the track once it is armed for record.

If you are using Wave Classic Drivers, you can TRY to get input monitor to be servicable by using the advanced page on the Audio Prefs options in Vegas. Warning, the latency and overhead of WDM Wave emulation will not provide satisfactory results. However, if you are using a card like the Echo's in PureWave mode you can set the purewave buffer size in the advanced page and check the Enable Input monitoring option there.
