Use it very regularly. Haven't tried it with V8 as yet but I can think of no reason why it will not work. All it does is automate Vegas and very, very nicely too. So anything that Vegas can do it can automate for you.
I really cannot speak highly enough of it. I archive a lot of audio in .pca to save space. This is a doodle with Multirenderer. Just config it to render all the files in one folder to another using a preset I've created and let it rip.
For encoding a whole weekends kiddies ball games, again a doodle.

If you're unsure it does come as a time limited trial.

Bob,
I saw your recent comment on the Frameserver posting about the Veggie Toolkit, which got me thinking about purchasing. I know it works with Vegas 8, I was just wondering if any of the new Vegas 8 features made Veggie Toolkit redundant. But I don't see that Vegas 8 added any benefits that Toolkit features.

When you mentioned in the other posting that you set up Toolkit to render in 20 minute segments, did you mean so that it fit onto HD DVD DVD-R discs? Also, what's a "doodle"... is that an Australian term?

Veggie Toolkit is now in its 3.0 version. This update is for V8. See http://www.peachrock.com/software/VeggieToolkit3/veggie-toolkit.html.

"did you mean so that it fit onto HD DVD DVD-R discs?"

Not quite, a regular DVD will hold 20 minutes of an AVI or m2t file, actually a couple of frames more. I've had clients ask me to capture tapes and give it back to them on something they can copy into their computer. So 3 DVDs will hold one full MiniDV tape. Doing this they've taken no quality hit, they've got a copy of the original media for archiving ( I use good quality DVDs, gold ones if they pay extra) and they can easily load it into a PC or Mac.

"what's a "doodle"... is that an Australian term?"

Could be mate. "Doodling", drawing on a piece of scrap paper while talking to the client, something you do without thinking.

I might have made that up, should check my Strine dictionary.

Pretty much the same as calling something "a piece of cake". Easy to do, requiring no effort or attention. You could "do it in your sleep".

"Doodling" is to do the draw thing. The verb being: to doodle.

I think Bob might have meant that it is or was a "doddle".

This then would make it an adjectival noun, ie "That is a doddle". However, and if at all possible, it would be abundantly wise not to try and convert an adjectival noun into a transitive verb. It would be a way of madness.

But what do I know? ( . . and that's a rhetorical statement, not requiring a reply.)
