insert a clip

I need to add a small clip midway of my project. When i select to move my clips from that point down only that line goes leaving all my sound and music behind. I know their is a way but i can't find it in my book. Feeling dumb.

Turn on the ripple tool first, or do a post-ripple (Ctrl/F) after you move your clip (event).

In other words:
-switch Ripple on (switch is on top of Vegas)
-move the right-hand clip where you want to insert new clip towards right (all other clips on the right will move)
-insert new clip in the "hole"
-bring back the aforementionned right-hand ckip back (left) to the new clip and where you want it (cross fade or simple cut). All the clips on the right will move to the left while doing so...
