For a non-commercial project, I want to insert a scene from a movie into our company training film. Is there a way to do this - that is, "rip" a sequence from a movie into a Vegas Project? Thanks in advance for your help?
Unless you have permission (ie sony making a "what not to do on he set" training video and uses footage from their movies). Check out www.dvdrhelp.com for help. It's a pain in the but process.
I'm making a video montage for our Church Eastor Concert and wanted to use some scences from the "Ten Commandments" DVD. We called Paramount Pictures on a fluke to see if we could get permission.
They got back to us in about 2-3 days and said no problem knock yourself out (in so many words). Now I think that fact that we are a church (read non-profit) and we were not selling DVDs with the images.
Point is, that answer to an unasked questions is always No (someone more famous than me said that).
BTW, it would be quite ironic for us to use the TC DVD with out permission... If I remember correctly there was something about "thou shall not steal" :)
thanks - and sorry for the barrage of questions, but:
I ripped a VOB chapter to my hard drive - but when I try and import it in Vegas, nothing shows up. Am I missing a step, or are the files I need to decrpyt on the DVD?
Vegas doesn't reconize the file extension (if I'm understanding what you are saying); if you use the explorer window in Vegas you can pull the file onto the timeline, or rename the file .mpg
Use the forum SEARCH feature using "VOB" as the search criteria and you will find dozens and dozens of additional posts, if you really want to get into it.
