Inserting chapter points

AdamX wrote on 7/20/2004, 7:56 AM
I'm using DVD Architect v2, I have a AC3 audio file and M2V video file, both load up and play fine. The problem is inserting chapters, I've read the manual and it says click on INSERT CHAPTER or press M but nothing works, the INSERT CHAPTER button is not lit so I can't select it. Any help would be cool.

Thanks

Adam

PS: Everything else work fine, I just can't insert any chapters

Are the other buttons next to the Insert Chapter button also grayed out as well? If so, chances are you're looking at the timeline for the menu, not the timeline for the video. Double-click the video's button on the menu.

Otherwise, this is very curious indeed. Has the Insert Chapter button worked for you before? With other M2V files or just with MPEG2 files? I don't use M2V files often, so I don't know if this is a factor or not. From what program did the M2V originate?

(Paragraph 2 is only relevant if Paragraph 1 was not. :)

Yep, bStro's got it right. I just did the same thing yesterday. Caused me a few minutes of frustration until I woke up and realized I was looking at the menu.

I've sorted it, instead of using drag and drop for the media files, i clicked on INSERT MEDIA and it worked, I can now insert chapters, this is a bit odd I think. Thanks for the replies.

Shouldn't make a difference. Unless you were dragging the media to the menu's timeline? That would replace the menu background with your video file.
