Inserting text error message

When attempting to place a text media on the timeline the error message, "An error occured during and edit operation...An invalid argument was specified" appears??? I reinstalled the program and its text update and that helped once but it's back again. Any ideas?

I suppose for 70 bucks worth of software I shouldn't get too frustrated but there are glitches galore and getting to tech support is either ponderous or expensive or both. Oh well.....

Hi Colleen- you should be seeing this problem. Could you please post your system specs here? Perhaps this will help us as a group diagnose your problem. (No, this isn't tech support but lots of questions do get answered here).

The strange part of your story is that the problem re-appeared after being gone for awhile. What changed on your system recently?

Thanks for the response. I am running a 500mhz processor with 256 megs of ram on Windows ME. After purchasing the program (retail version) I made up a 1 minute test video. At first it continued to crash the machine each time I rendered an MPEG or avi. (Streaming video was fine.) I apparently solved the problem by eliminating dupe drivers and eliminating useless startup items. With the additional resources I'm able to render the file okay in all templates only to find that I can't place the titles on the timeline. Strange stuff.
