So I'm a relative newbie to vegas video...I have the following situation in my video project. I have two video tracks and one audio track that I'm using to create my final rendered video. I have a few questions with inserting events:
1. For a basic insert in the middle of a video track, I am trying to paste a video event I'm just copying from somewhere else. Is there a method to have it insert and maintain all the video around it (a clean insert?) When I insert lets say a 10 second clip somewhere where there's only a 5 second space, it overlaps the other video already there. I just want to insert a piece of video between two other pieces, and have it propogate down the entire timeline...so if I insert the 10 sec clip, then everything after that clip gets pushed back 10 seconds...I'm sure this is something normal, i've tried a bunch of different settings...but can't seem to get it to work.
2. If I want to do the same thing above, however, I want to insert a video clip in one timeline (say video track 1), and have the time I insert propogate across the other video track as well as the audio track, in order to keep everything synched up? Basically, in my scenario, I'm adding some credits at the beginning of my video, and don't want to manually sync up all the rest of the video and audio clips...any ideas?
3. Finally,...I have what is hopefully a basic copy question...when I go to my source video/audio tracks, can I do a simple drag and copy over a video and audio selection and have it copy both? For some reason, I highlight it, and copy and then paste, and only the video gets copies, no audio...i could copy the audio separately, but again, i know its probably easier than this and I don't want to have to sync it all up again...
I appreciate any help!
