Inserting Video Intro

I was helping my son on a school project this weekend. We got done with the video and editing it when we decided we wanted to throw an introduction in front of the movie. I could not figure out how to insert this new footage without messing up all of the sequences following it.. sound effects, music, titling etc.. How is this achieved?

Put the cursor at the beginning, choose Insert - Time, type in the length of the intro, and that will create a hole where you can place the intro.

Also look into ripple edit. There are different modes, but that will move all affected clips, etc. together.

Thank you. I will try this tonight.

Not sure yet about the ripple edit - but the instert "time" function works good - provided you've selected all of the tracks first. If you only have one track highlighted, it only inserts time into that track.. But I was able to do what I needed using this techniqe.

Thank you for your assistance.
