Installed Pro 16 Update... FX are watermarked

Phil_P wrote on 12/15/2018, 4:19 AM

Greetings,

Just upgraded from 15 Suite to Pro 16 (regular not Suite)

  • New Blue Filters 5 are not showing up at all, even though activated and current (using the New Blue App Manager). This includes Elements, Essentials, Filters, Stylisers
  • Hit Film Movie Essentials (and other Hitflim stuff) is also missing.
  • Titler Pro is still showing up

I used all of the above for projects I am working on.

I don't want to be forced to keep an older version of vegas on my machine, although luckily it is still there now so I can continue work.

Does anyone have any suggestion?

Thank you in advance. P.

Do the missing plug-ins have licenses for Vegas Pro 16?

Do you mean "Suite" instead of "Ultimate" (as there is no "Vegas Pro Ultimate")?

Hi Marco, thanks for your reply. Yes I did mean Suite of course. 🙃

How do I know/check if the missing plugins have licenses for 16? Are you saying that when I bought the 15 suite that the plugins are locked to that version of Vegas?

I realise you are just the messenger and not an employee of Magix but if this is the case - Well insert profanity here (not aimed at you) 😬

I work mainly in the audio industry, (hence the Ultimate/Suite error), I have never come across this kind of licensing.

Thanks again for your reply.

This is a user forum and even me as moderator I am just a Vegas Pro user, not a Magix employee (and no official messenger either).

I'm not sure if the plug-in licenses from the VP15 suite are limited to VP15 but in the past this sometimes happened (e.g. with ProDAD Mercalli). You could try re-installing the plug-ins because sometimes they need the latest folder structure of Vegas Pro.

Hi Marco, I just re-read my post when you sent this reply and released it could have been taken the wrong way.
I know you're a mod and you do a great job. I was basically saying I am not "shooting the messenger".

But obviously also aring my upset.

Thanks again. And sorry if my post came across as rude. If so, not intended.

For any FX package that you purchased directly from NBFX, try re-installing it/them - you shouldn't have to uninstall first as the re-install acts like a "repair", or so I have found over the years with NBFX plugins.

For plugins that specifically came with a package deal (like VP15 Suite), it is disappointingly not uncommon for those plugins to be locked to that package deal and access to those plugins does not necessarily ripple through to later versions of the same primary product - though from many posts on this forum over the years, it's a bit hit-and-miss as to whether packaged plugins will work in later versions of VP.. But still try reinstalling the plugins as that may do the trick.

Thanks Dexcon. So it is known. Wow that is a poor show tbh. Even if I had upgraded to another Suite version i would have lost these plugins.

Funny thing is, before upgrading, I posted a question about this earlier as I had seen odd things but couldn't find them, But then jumped in anyway and deleted the post before it had any replies.

So up to now I have found a workaround for some of this, and will continue to hunt for ways to get them all working again in 16.

Thanks again guys,

If you have plugins properly installed and Vegas is not seeing them, you need to clear the cache in Vegas. Hold down CTRL-SHIFT while starting Vegas and check the "Delete all cached application data" box.

Warning: It will also revert all preferences back to factory default.

Hi guys, just so the info is here. I got a reply back from NewBlue.

Regarding the Essentials 5 Package (That is all I am missing now I got everything else working). Sad thing is the Color Corrector Pro is the only plugin I really used in all my 14/15 projects.

Basically saying that was purchased as part of Vegas Pro 14, they said they issues a fix for V15 to remove watermarking but if you want to use them in V16 you need to purchase the full product (again).

Cheers,
