Installer stuck at "Initialising DirectX plug-ins" during startup

Hi,

I've been using Vegas 14 for a little while now and I'm very happy with it. Last week, however, it suddenly stopped launching - I hadn't changed anything during that week but for some reason now it stops at "Initialising DirectX plug-ins" and opens a Windows installer, which never actually does anything. I've tried solutions from similar issues but none explicitly mention this installer opening up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Look through this: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-vegas-pro-won-t-start-what-can-i-do--104784/

I tried each step in this to no avail. I've reinstalled the program twice too, no luck. I also ran Vegas 13 to see if it worked and it has the same issue. Like I said, this only started last week, so I'm confused as to what's happened.

I've heard of and experienced loading hangs with VST plug-ins.. both in VP and SF, but have no read of issues with DX plugs (at least til now). When you uninstalled, did you use a third-party uninstaller, one that removes the left over registry entries, if not I would try that, then re-install. Many of us use Revo Uninstall which seems to work well.
